- Title
-
- Coat with attached faille cape and front panel.
- Description
-
- Written on image: "Entire cape and [panel] down front of faille silk." "Designed by Pearl Alexander" "ANDRE' 570 - 7th Ave New York City Feb. 17th, 1941"
- Includes small sketch of back of garment. "Faille" is a fabric with flat, crosswise-running ribs. Note how the artist has suggested its texture here with closely-set parallel lines. Notice, also, how the top of the model's head, her feet, and half of the coat's skirt in the rear view have been left off, in contrast to the completeness of the other drawings in this series. A large button, presumably decorative, secures the cape in back between the shoulders.
