- Written on image: "André Fashions" "Disappearing collar and dropped shoulder." "designed by Pearl Alexander" "ANDRE' 570 - 7th Ave. New York City Feb. 17, 1941"
- "Disappearing collar" seems to be a term the André studio created for this design, in which the collar consists of small points of fabric which extend downward from the neck as a part of the dropped sleeves. A "dropped sleeve" extends down over the shoulder rather than stopping at the upper arm.
