- Written in red pencil on image, next to an arrow pointing at the collar: "white caracul". Caracul (also "karakul") is a heavy pile fabric, woven in imitation of Persian lamb.
- Coat has a "raglan sleeve" (sleeve coming to a point at the shoulder) in the front, with a normal sleeve attachment in back. The material of the body of the coat is shirred (gathered and sewn) where it joins the sleeve at the shoulder seam in front.
