- Title
-
- Drop-shouldered coat with shirring.
- Description
-
- Double lines of decorative stitching begin behind each shoulder, cross the chest of the coat, then turn downward to run parallel along the buttons and down the skirt to the hem.
- Includes smaller back view of coat.
- In a "dropped shoulder" the body of the garment covers the shoulder, with the sleeve beginning at the upper arm. "Shirring" is when fabric is gathered in rows for decoration, as the trim of this coat does under its shoulders.
- Printed on image: "Drop Shoulder[,] beneath which coat is shirred for softness." "designed by Pearl Levy Alexander" "ANDRE' 570 - 7th Ave. New York City[.] Feb. 3, 1941"
