- Title

- New shoulder treatment in a softer dressmaker coat.
- Description
-
- Image includes small sketch of back of garment.
- Printed on image: "André fashions" "designed by Pearl Alexander" "André 570 - 7th Ave. New York City Dec. 30, 1940"
- This coat has small epaulet-like panels at the shoulders, shirred at their outermost seams. The large, flower-form buttons are connected by "frogs" (short lengths of cord or fabric that loop over them) shaped like Mobius strips. The combination of "epaulets" and fancy frogged button pairs give the coat a "drum major" or military feel, not unusual in a country edging toward involvement in World War II.
