-
- Plaid coat with four bias patch pockets covered with flaps.
- Description
-
- Printed on image: "Designed by Pearl Alexander" "André 570 - 7th Ave. New York City Dec. 16, 1940"
- Image includes a small sketch of the back of the garment. The lining ("revers") of the coat is gray.
- Fitted plaid coat with four flapped patch pockets. Note how the plaid pattern runs horizontal/vertical above the waist and diagonal below it, suggesting that the garment is made in two pieces stitched together. The pockets are cut "on the bias", with their fabric pattern running diagonal to that of the fabric to which they're sewn. The matching hat is patterned after a trditional Scottish "glengarry" cap, and has longer, stiffer ribbons than would be on the original.
